West Austria

West Austria is the home to the historic city of Salzburg. This amazing city is the destination of thousands of tourists each year. The city is best known for being the location of the classic film The Sound of Music. Many visitors to the western part of Austria visit the wonderful city of Innsbruck as well. Innsbruck has so much to offer, so choosing what to see on your vacation can be difficult. The one thing that all tourists make sure to visit is the Hofkirche. This historic attraction is the tomb monument of emperor Maximilian I. This amazing tomb features huge bronze statues that show members of different European dynasties. The area is also well known for downhill and cross-country skiing. You can also go to any of the scenic lakes in the region and spend a day fishing that you will always remember.
