The Flemish Region also known as Flanders is made up of five provinces, Antwerp, Limburg, East Flanders, Flemish Brabant and West Flanders. With quaint cobblestone streets and impressive gothic cathedrals, the area of Belgium offers both history and culture to its visitors.

Visit Antwerp to see how medieval architecture can be brought to Art Nouveau style or dive into the diamond district in this city so you can see the history of the gems and where you can become familiar with cleaving, sawing, bruting, polishing and the international rules of how diamonds are graded by carat, colour, cut and clarity. The Fine Arts museum in Bruges was founded in 1798 and is one of the oldest in the country and houses a permanent collection of more that 350 works of art which are permanently on display. The museum has been closed for renovation but has now reopened.

The St. Peter and St. Paul church in Ostende has twin towers that cannot be missed. This neo-gothic church was built in 1904-1905 and designed by the architect Delacenserie. The use of sandstone sets makes it different from other churches in the Province of West Flanders that are entirely built with bricks. Inside the church is the mausoleum for Belgium's first queen Louise-Marie who died in Oostende in 1850 and let a very unhappy life. The stained-glass windows show the portraits of the different Belgian Kings. Next to the church is an older tower known as the 'Peperbusse'. This is the remainder of the former church from the 18th century that stood here before it was destroyed by fire in 1896.The first stone of the tower was laid on July the 20th 1478. The tower now houses a museum.
