There are many national parks in Normandy including the Seine-Maritime, Normandie Maine regional National Park, Bessin Natural park and the Perch Natural; Park. Visitors can visit the D-Day beaches; many still including the large artificial ports called “mulberries.”  Visitors can now tour the blockhouses and bomb craters left by the brutal fights waged there during World War II. Guided tours of the D-Day beaches are available and walk the coastline where the battle of Normandy took place and the coastline of Calvados which is world famous for the part it played in turning world war 11 on the 6th of June 1944.

One of France’s most famous monuments, Mont Saint Michel, is the home of a Norman Benedictine Abbey of St. Michel.  The abbey sits at the peak of a rocky island and is surrounded by winding streets and the beautiful architecture of a mediaeval town. 

Visitors can visit one of Mont Saint Michel’s charming restaurants to taste its famous omelettes.  Visitors can sample delicious omelettes and other delicious food at Du Guesclin, which serves oysters, omelets and lamb.  La Mere Poulard is well-known for its delicious omelettes, which are made with non-traditional ingredients and are cooked in the front window of the restaurant. Normandy is famous for its Cider and Calvados and the Normandy cuisine has a distinct identity. The twin towns of Deauville and Trouville offer an exciting and luxurious nightlife to visitors.  Both towns feature casinos, although Deauville’s casino is slightly more upscale than Trouville’s.  Deauville also has many highbrow nightclubs, including Amazone and the Y Club.
