Poland - Luxury
Poland, famous for its wide spanning fields, offers more than flat grasslands. This small country, roughly the size of New Mexico, is rich with varied terrain, from forests to mountains to sandy beaches. Each region of Poland provides its own riches and opportunities.
If you plan to visit in summertime, and you'd like to spend some time on the water, the Mazury Lakes of North-eastern Poland are calling. Charter a boat or a yacht, and enjoy the luxury of a holiday in Masurian territory. Vessels can be chartered bareboat, or, for added comfort, skippered, and even fully crewed.
The southern border of Poland is lined with beautiful mountain ranges. The Tatra, Karkonosze, and Beskid Mountains are the home to ski resort towns of Zakopane, Karpacz, and Ustron. Zakopane is the most popular with tourists, and provides the most luxury. If you are interested in a more private family holiday, visit the towns of the Beskid mountain wilderness.
In case yachting and skiing aren't enough for your sense of adventure, skydiving has also made its way to the plains of Poland. The most prestigious base site is probably the Pyrlandia Boogie Skydiving Company in the western town of Wielkopolski. No matter where in Poland, if skydiving is your sport, your unlikely to find better views, on the way down, anywhere else in the world.
Undoubtedly, all of this untamed as well as luxurious adventure offered by your holiday in Poland has more than wet your appetite. Make your way to the capital city of Warsaw for not only the best food in the country, but quite possibly the best meal of your life. The Belvedere will thrill every sense. Once you have taken in the architecture of the gorgeous glass-fronted building, try the lamb in a setting of exotic plants and subtly appetising soft lights and music. For dessert, how does “Warm bitter chocolate fondant with raspberry sauce and pistachio” or “Vanilla, Kahlua and Grand Marnier crème brûlée” sound? Maybe you prefer a light desert after a beautiful meal, and will order the “Gazpacho of red berries served with kiwi and basil sorbet”. If you'd rather dine on good food in a slightly more casual setting, The Boathouse is an excellent choice. Pair the Filetto di Manzo, an Irish beef tenderloin in a green pepper sake sauce, with the famous Amaretto liquor flavoured Boathouse Tiramisu and gold plated caramel popcorn shashlik for dessert.
Where you lay your head while in Poland will of course depend on the region. But there are many beautiful, self-catering rental apartments, holiday villas, and country cottages throughout. If you are looking for a pool, or jacuzzi, many properties do have these features. Also, maid service can usually be obtained for an additional fee. Decide whether you want to yacht, ski, fish, golf etc. and then look for properties near your desired activity. But remember, Poland is a relatively small country. If you plan to stay awhile, you can feel free to plan adventures throughout the regions.
