Muntenia-Romania - Luxury

Muntenia is a southeastern region of Romania. The bustling capital of Bucharest is located in south central Muntenia. Bucharest is a hot spot for museums, theatres, gardens, opera, and an afternoon boat tour on Lake Herastrau. Another important attraction is 'Muzeul Satului', located in Herastrau park. Muzeul Satului is an outdoor museum displaying traditional Romanian housing. The museum consits of two hundred and fifty homes that were relocated from all across Romania. If you appreciate fine music, the Romanian Athenaeum is a stop you must include in your tour of Muntenia. The Romanian Athenaeum is host to the annual George Enescu Internation Music Festival.

If you plan to ski in Muntenia, the mountain resort town of Azuga is a charming holiday destination. Located in the mountains of Prahova county, Azuga is home to Sorica, Romania's longest run. Also notable is the Azuga beer factory. Near Azuga is Busteni, where Romania's wealthy gather. Much like Azuga, the draws of Busteni are its ski runs breathtaking scenery.
