St. Vincent was first inhabited by a group of Meso-Indians, the Ciboney, who were eventually replaced by the Arawak who came from Venezuela. From there, the inhabitants of these islands ranged from the Dutch and the Africans who were brought here on slave ships, the British and the French and others who migrated here over the centuries.
