Lothian – Luxury
Near Edinburgh, but seemingly light years from its busy city atmosphere, the Lothians region of Scotland is a great place to escape to. Its three components, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian, make up Edinburgh's amazing surrounding coast and countryside, and offers more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Scotland.
We provide our guests with luxurious accommodation in Lothian, ranging from houses and apartments to bungalows and cabins. In any of them, you will have plenty of space to kick back and enjoy your holiday. You can also indulge in the first class amenities at most of our properties, including a refreshing jacuzzi hot tub, a revitalising sauna, a private barbeque area for casual dining, and maid service for a small extra fee.
The Lothians will introduce you to Scotland's rich heritage by impressing you with majestic homes, intriguing castles and medieval chapels. The area's bevy of historic towns and picturesque villages make for wonderful exploring, and you will be treated to prize winning beaches, championship golf courses, and some of the country's finest tourist attractions.
You can browse art galleries and museums, study wildlife at the award winning Scottish Seabird Centre, view Scotland's Concorde at The National Museum of Flight at East Fortune, see horses race at Musselburgh, select from a fine choice of dining, and then top it all off with a “wee dram” at Glenkinchie Distillery.
East Lothian offers peaceful, unspoiled beaches, undulating green hills and awesome ancient ruins. Its more than 40 miles of beautiful coastline gives you not only those dazzling beaches, but also spectacular, dramatic cliffs.
Midlothian is fewer than 10 miles south of Edinburgh's city centre, and may be most recognised as the home of the medieval Rosslyn Chapel and its exquisite Gothic stone carvings. Midlothian offers intriguing attractions like tropical butterflies, black diamonds, and mysterious stone carvings.
West Lothian is halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh and features some of Scotland's most magnificent views, as well some of its best shopping.
Entertainment choices in the Lothians region include classical music, horse racing, stand up comedy, and theatre. River cruises are a lovely way to see the area, and there are several tours you can take, such as castles, ghost, literary, history, and whisky tours. Just a few of the bounty of sporting activities you'll find are sailing, surfing, cycling, clay target shooting, ballooning, golf, rugby, kayaking and karting.
