Tobago
Tobago is frequently known as the honeymooner's paradise for its idyllic beauty. With forests filled with mango, citrus and cocoa, you can find yourself in a luscious wildlife environment you will remember for years to come. Let Tobago show you its serene atmosphere for a Caribbean vacation you won't soon forget!
Tobago came under British rule in 1508, but would change hands 22 times before it would become British again in 1814. Named for the tobacco that was used by the Native Amerindian population that lived there, Tobago has had a more turbulent past than its sister island Trinidad, but both are now some of the wealthiest islands in the Caribbean.
The steel drum is the official instrument of Tobago and its sister island. At some point, locals figured out they could melt the drum down and produce a unique sound. From there, the steel drum and its unusual sound has become an integral part of the Caribbean lifestyle, but of Tobago and Trinidad in particular.
If you love to go boating and sailing, you can take 50-foot catamarans out off the coast of Tobago or see the snorkeling and scuba diving the island offers. If you love to go sea fishing, you can catch some of the most exciting sport fishing in the area, including tuna, marlin and more. In addition, these catamaran trips are a great romantic escape for you and your significant other. Have a large party of family and friends? Jump off the west coast to the Arnos Vale Reef whose 40-foot depth will provide the ideal environment for bright fish, unusual wildlife and more. You can find angelfish, southern stingray, moray ells and the Atlantic torpedo ray who image will stick in your mind long after you have left.
Whether you are here for a short stay over the weekend or a long trip, you can find an array of cultural attractions, golfand hiking trips to entertain you for long hours when you are here. Find a villa that is secluded for a romantic atmosphere or book a large villa for a big family.
